I really enjoyed this week and what we learned. It was really insightful to hear from a variety of people how they would use technology in a certain grade. I thought people had many good ideas from Smart Board, Prezi, different websites, and many others. I loved how creative people became with the different technology and it all seemed to flow in with their lesson plan. It seemed like everybody found a new way to use technology, which shows how many different ways you can use it in classrooms today. I felt that in my own brainstorming it was hard to find something that would be simple enough for kindergarteners to grasp. I did find some good websites on life science, which I think would be great to use in my classroom. They were mostly for me as a teacher to show to my students as an exercise at the beginning of a section. However, they were short video clips of children their own age telling about what they thought of life science with pictures. I thought it would be a wonderful way to get the children talking about the topic and excited. I can see how technology will be great in aiding my classroom and I am excited to learn more in how it will be effective. I hope in the future to find even more websites on things to teach in the kindergarten classroom.
Wecome Readers!
I am a simple girl with probably not the most knowledgable mind but I do have many thoughts. I have many goals and aspirations to achieve. However, my lifelong dream is to help children grow, learn, and create with their simple childish minds. I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts as i try to some how make sense with my lack of ability to communicaite on paper. :)

How Will Technology Control the Classroom
Hello reader my name is Annie Reed. I have only been at Cedarville University since last year. I am now a sophomore and studying Elementary Education. My home is in Denver, Colorado and I absolutely feel that is one of the best state's to live in. I am not a blogger but as I feel that technology is on the rise I feel I need to expand my horizons. Most of the time I am being swallowed in by the lack of knowledge of how to use technology but I am trying to overcome my inability to connect to the times. I know that technology is everywhere and consumes our culture. It will exist even in my Kindergarten classroom someday. However, this is quite a scary thought but I know I need to be prepared for the future.
I most definitely agree with the idea that technology will change education in the times ahead. There are many technologies just this year that will have the potential to expand the classroom. Just toolsets alone will be used without increasing costs, which will extend learning into the home, and will increase student engagement. The Apple's iPad and the new and upcoming slate of Android and webOS-based tablets will allow schools to step into a whole new world of mobile/handheld devices in classrooms. With the Internet being at our fingertips, and several other technologies as well, will be provided for educational use including; electronic book readers, annotation tools, applications for creation and composition, and social networking tools. Thus the classroom will be a completely new place of learning.
I know that technology will be a very helpful aid in the classroom as it continues to improve, but will also take away from the hands on learning that I enjoyed growing up with. I hope that in my own classroom I can learn the balance of being supplied with the latest technology but not controled by it.
